The elective units offered have been selected in consultation with our industry partners at Barwon Health in Geelong, and Werribee Mercy Hospital in Werribee.
Work placement is a component of this course, organised by The Gordon. You will complete work placement at University Hospital (Barwon Health) or St John of God for our Geelong course. The Werribee course provides placement for students at Werribee Mercy Hospital in Werribee. Placement is not paid work and students will not receive payment for undertaking practical placement. You will be required to obtain both a current police check and approved Working with Children’s Check. *Please note that you may be required to travel outside of your usual training location to attend placement. This may include other regional areas or suburbs of Melbourne. As per worker vaccination requirements , all applicants for this course must be triple vaccinated (boosted) against COVID-19 prior to undertaking placement which is a requirement for completion of this course. Students are required to provide evidence of full vaccination status, including booster dose, as part of their placement documentation which is provided to placement facilities. Students that cannot provide valid evidence will not be able to complete placement and therefore unable to complete this course.
