Reece Babington wins Bert Fagg Award 2023The Davidson restaurant at The Gordon recently hosted the Rotary Club of Belmont Bert Fagg Apprenticeship Awards.

The Bert Fagg Apprenticeship Awards are presented to two hard working apprentices who have shown that despite life’s challenges, they have the ability to work hard and accomplish their goals. The award is given in honour of Bert Fagg, who was a member of the Belmont Rotary Club for more than 40 years and commenced a career as a carpenter, mentoring countless apprentices throughout his career.

Nominated by The Gordon, Reece Babington, who has undertaken a Certificate III in Carpentry, received the Bert Fagg Apprentice Award and $2,000 to encourage him in his efforts in the pursuit of his qualification.

Reece chose a carpentry apprenticeship to learn life-long skills and be able to follow his passion to build properties.

“It means a lot to receive this award and I am very grateful to the Rotary Club and the Fagg family. Bert was a clever thinker and had high attention to detail, two things that I pride myself on.”

“My future career goals are to complete a diploma in construction and have a business plan in place to create a successful business.”

Gabriel Bernadino also received the Bert Fagg Award after being nominated by gforce recruitment.
