Entry requirements

  • Attending a secondary school
  • Literacy and numeracy level equivalent to the successful completion of Year 9

You will learn

  • Furniture making practical skills, including joining materials, making timber joints, preparing surfaces, using tools, assembling components, undertaking projects
  • Develop a career plan for the furnishing industry
  • Apply safe and environmentally sustainable practices at work
  • Communicate information effectively and work in teams

Course outcomes

Upon successful completion of this program you will receive:

  • Recognition of up to two VCE VET units at Units 1 and 2 level, and a VCE VET Units 3 and 4 sequence.
  • ATAR contribution: if you undertake scored assessment, the study score can contribute directly to the ATAR, either as one of your best four studies (the primary four) or as a fifth or sixth study increment 
  • Certificate II in Furniture Making Pathways qualification
