Having previously operated her own career coaching service, Liz joined the SJC team with a keen interest in supporting and motivating others to achieve their career goals. Liz has a Masters in Professional Education and Training and a Doctorate in Adult Education.
Passionate about facilitating lifelong learning, employee engagement and wellbeing, Liz has previously worked across higher education, human resources, learning and development, and healthcare.
Glenn brings a wealth of experience to his role as the Coordinator for the Skills and Jobs Centre. With 8 years of managerial experience at TAFE and a background spanning community services, education, employment, mental health, and youth sectors over 15 years. Glenn provides a holistic, person-centered approach to empower individuals in achieving their aspirations. He holds a Diploma in Community Services specialising in Mental Health and Alcohol and Other Drugs, reflecting his commitment to supporting and advocating for community well-being.
My job is all about leading creative industry-focused projects that help our centre shine and support our communities. A big part of what I do is connecting with employers, industry groups, and apprenticeship networks with the awesome services we offer. I’m here to spread the word about the SJC’s amazing services and courses at The Gordon.
Sue, our dedicated Customer Service Liaison, is vital in connecting The Gordon Skills and Jobs Centres with its clients. With extensive experience in the TAFE sector, she serves as the bridge between internal and external customers, ensuring smooth communication. Whether handling enquiries, feedback, or concerns, Sue translates them into actionable insights for the company. Her efforts contribute to a positive customer experience
In this role, Paul coordinates participants overcoming education, training, and employment barriers by providing a tailored support plan for study and employment pathways.
Paul holds a Diploma in Employment Services and a Certificate IV in Child Youth and Family Intervention (Out of Home Care). Paul has worked with high-risk youth in the out-of-home sector and gained experience in various aspects of the VET sector, including apprenticeships, traineeships, and employment services.
A major focus of Jodie’s role has been assisting retrenched workers and their families in the Geelong community.
Before her time with us, Jodie spent 4 years working as a Recognition of Prior Learning advisor at The Gordon Skills Store. She spent another 8 years working in the job network and 9 years with Centrelink prior to working at the Gordon. Jodie has diplomas in Management and Business Administration, as well as a Certificate IV in Career Development.
Saumil brings rich experience and expertise in the fields of career development, Education and human resources. His academic credentials include a Post Graduate Certificate in Career Development Practices, a Post Graduate Certificate in Human Resource Management, and a Certificate IV in Human Resources. These qualifications underpin his extensive knowledge in career practices, resume, cover letter and Key Selection criteria writing, recruitment, screening, interviewing, worker placement, and overall HR employment practices. Saumil also holds a Diploma in Corporate Communication and a Bachelor of Commerce.
Saumil's professional journey spans 23 + years in different countries and industries. In Australia, he has guided innumerable individuals towards fulfilling career paths as a Career advisor. Saumil lives by Ray Kroc's philosophy: “The more I help others, the more I succeed.”
Caroline has a postgraduate qualification in Education and a post- graduate Certificate in Careers Development. It was her time teaching Work Education that led Caroline into the careers area. Caroline had worked with a lot of people with barriers to education before joining us and has worked with adults on foundation skills such as reading, writing, and digital literacy.
Helen is a newer team member and has worked in the Geelong region as a youth worker, career counsellor, teacher of VCAL, and program coordinator for a young parents' program.
Helen is passionate about helping young people find a suitable career path and reengage in employment, education and training. Helen holds a Diploma in Community Services and Careers Counselling, Certificate 4 in Training and Assessment and a Mental Health First Aid qualification.
Helen aims to use her life and work experience across government and not-for-profit sectors to guide clients in their studies and long-term career options.
Kara joined the SJC team in 2023 and has a postgraduate Certificate in Career Development and Counselling and a Bachelor of Arts in Social science.
Kara has a background in Hospitality and Management and brings some insight into the challenges associated with returning to work after a career break and transitioning into a new industry mid-career. She is passionate about supporting people in achieving their career goals in education, training, or a new job opportunity.
Belinda works as a Career Advisor in Geelong and Wyndham Vale. She has extensive experience in the employment and training area from previously working in the employment industry for eight years before transitioning to a Careers Advisor role. Belinda leverages her knowledge and experience to assist clients with labour market information, job search strategies, preparing job application documents such as resumes, cover letters, and key selection criteria.
Belinda’s qualifications include Bachelor of Arts (Hons) and Diploma of Counselling.
Christine has been the Gordon TAFE Careers Counsellor for two decades and is dedicated in providing specialised and tailored support to both current and prospective Gordon Students. Christine’s qualifications include a Graduate Certificate in Careers Education and Development and a Bachelor of Arts (Education). She is also a Professional Member of the Australian Centre for Careers Education.
